When My Best Isn’t Good Enough

Some of us go through life trying to fit in with family, with friends, and/or certain groups. I’ve always thought family is important. I hear a lot of brass. Very loud and indignant.

“You should just accept this or that. It is what it is.”

To that I say, not when it’s about me. Clang! Clang! Clang!

I know the terms of the contract of my soul. Looks like I’ve completely fulfilled them as it addresses what I give and what I take, and what I accept and what I don’t.

When my best isn’t good enough, I’ve done too much.
When my best isn’t good enough, I’m done.
